What does the word disconnect mean? As a verb it means "to sever or interrupt the connection of or between; detach". Option trading - one day options - is a disconnect from the world. What happens to slightly "out-of-the-money" Call options on Costco when the stock shoot up thirty dollars on the day? I will show you what happened on Friday to Costco Calls and the options on a few other stocks I frequently watch. What a disconnect from the real world. But before that a look at how the indexes traded. 1) Costco. It's five day chart and a look at how three of it's option series moved upwards in one day. You may not know how to read these printouts but try to read the highs and lows on these option pricings. News About Moderna

There is always news on Moderna. Look at these two charts both showing how it jumped up in price ten days ago.
When stocks have a pattern of jumping you only win when you catch the right direction. Here is the background to today's action (Monday Oct 24th and I am looking for an entry point). As mentioned before Mondays are not my favorite time to be purchasing option that expire on Friday. The D.J.I. and Moderna were up today. Moderna is in the spotlight concerning how much the government going to pay for their vacines going forward.
Now look at the stock's one day and five day charts. I didn't end up playing it.
Let's move on to Tuesday and here is some action.
There was a short and slight selloff around 2:15 p.m. Here is what I did. I got in at 12:57 p.m. looking for an afternoon selloff and I got out a 2:16 p.m. at the height of it's mini crash. It was a question of just getting out and asking questions later. (I did spend 15 seconds looking for news but I couldn't find any). The markets in general at that time were staying stubbornly strong.
Here is a chart of how it traded on the day.I was lucky to get out when I did.
Yet another opportunity presented itself the follow day with a mild afternoon price decline after a morning rally. It's nice doing these types of trades without having to take overnight positions.
Now a January 10th 2023 update.
Moderna is now in a sweet spot as it is not hurting for money.

Trump Media Technology Options With Three Days To Go.

On Tuesday just after 3:00 p.m the Trump Media Technology Options had stop traded again. What is the next 24 hours going to bring? Who knows. So many option traders follow this stock and most are afraid to buy either Call or Put Options on it because their premiums are so expensive. If Trumph wins the stock should soar and if he loses the stock will tank. The option premiums are priced expensively in both directions. Here now is how both the Calls and Puts traded on the opening today. First the Calls six minutes into the opening. Now the Puts. Now a look at how these options played the day.
